What is BikeBuy?
BikeBuy is South Africa's cycling super-site: a marketplace for new and used bikes, parts and gear, a price tracker with free drop alerts, a Reddit-style forum, routes and trails, a 2026 race calendar, a bike-shop directory, servicing guides, a virtual garage and expert buyer's guides — all localised to South Africa with prices in rands.
Do I need an account to use BikeBuy?
No. You can browse the marketplace, read the news and forum, explore routes and shops, and even track a price and get a free email drop alert without signing up. A free account only becomes necessary to sell an item, post in the forum, or use My Garage and its service reminders.
How does the Price Tracker work?
We track prices on bikes, parts and helmets across South African retailers. Watch any product, add your email, and we'll send you a free alert the moment the price drops — no account needed to start. Upgrade to Pro to watch more products at once.
Is BikeBuy free to use?
Yes. Browsing, buying, selling and tracking prices are all free. There is an optional Pro upgrade that unlocks more price watches and richer drop alerts, but the core of BikeBuy costs nothing.
Can I sell my bike on BikeBuy?
Absolutely. Create a listing in minutes using cycling-specific fields — frame size, wheel size, groupset and condition — add clear photos, and set your price in rands. Interested buyers message you directly so you can agree terms and arrange a safe meet-up.
Is BikeBuy just for South Africa?
Yes — BikeBuy is built for South African cyclists. Listings, routes, events and shops are filterable by province, prices are shown in ZAR, and the race calendar covers local classics like the Cape Town Cycle Tour, the 947 Ride Joburg and the Cape Epic.
