About this route
Johannesburg's flagship mass-participation road race (20,000-30,000 riders annually, held cycle-challenge Sunday, 4th weekend in October). The course runs through Nasrec, Soweto, Braamfontein and the M1 towards Sandton, Woodmead, Midrand, Kyalami, Fourways, Douglasdale, Randburg, Blairgowrie, Craighall and Parktown, past landmarks including the M1 Highway and Nelson Mandela Bridge, finishing at the Kyalami Grand Prix Circuit. 1,398m of elevation gain per the organiser. Public tar roads year-round; closed only on race day.
