About this route
One of South Africa's oldest passes (1854), the R310 climbs 7.1 km from Stellenbosch (145 m) to the 387 m summit above Pniel — 242 m of gain through vineyards and wooded valleys. A safe, popular training climb: smooth tar with an emergency lane running almost its entire length. Finishing pass of the famed Four Passes road loop.
